Professional Firefighter Academy NFPA 1001: Standard Professional Firefighter Professional

Meets current NFPA 1001 Standard Professional Firefighter Professional Qualifications and including 16 Hours of Driver's Training. (All University of Akron students will receive 12 credit hours towards their Fire Protection or Emergency Medical Services Fire/Medic Option Associate degree upon completion of this course and passing the State Examination.)

Dates:  June 3rd through July 19, 2024
Location:  Uniontown Fire Department, 13055 Oakwood Ave NW, Uniontown, OH 44685.

Classes meet Monday through Friday from 8:30-5:30 pm(with a 1-hour lunch) There will be weekend sessions both Sat and Sun for burn days at the end of class.

Tuition:  $3900+ $600 gear rental if needed

Payment Options:  Full Payment before first day of class
                                   Payment Plan - $1,300 before first day of class + $600 gear rental if needed.
                                                                $1,300 last day of June
                                                                $1,300 by July 15th

Medical Form must be completed by a physician and either mailed to The Training Center for Fire and Hazardous materials, University of Akron, Polsky Building Room 327, Akron, OH 44325-4304, or dropped off at Polsky 327.

Payment in full is expected before class begins. Full payment must be paid by July 15th to sit for the state test.
