Professional Firefighter Academy NFPA 1001: Standard Professional Firefighter Professional

Meets current NFPA 1001 Standard Professional Firefighter Professional Qualifications and including 16 Hours of Driver's Training. (All University of Akron students will receive 11 credit hours towards their Fire Protection Associate degree upon completion of this course and passing the State Examination.)

Classes meet Monday through Thursday 1800-2200 hours and Sat 0800-1600

Location: Macedonia Fire Dept.

Turnout gear is REQUIRED for this training. The cost is $600 if you need to rent it from us.

Medical Form must be completed by a physician and either mailed to The Training Center for Fire and Hazardous materials, University of Akron, Polsky Building Room 327, Akron, OH 44325-4304, or dropped off at Polsky 327.

Payment in full is expected before class begins.

You will need to purchase your book & workbook (study guide).
