Plan Review for Fire Officials

This hands-on course will teach fire officials the basics of reviewing architectural plans, site plans and fire protection plans. Students will learn how to read plans, learn terminology, learn how to use architects/engineers' rulers. Students will review the Ohio Building Code and Ohio Fire Code as it pertains to plan review. Students will also learn to write plan review comments and who to address them to.

Students will need to bring copies of the Ohio Fire and Building Codes, pens, pencil, writing tablet or laptop and architect's ruler and engineers' ruler.

Students will need a set of site plans, architectural building plans, and fire protection plans (i.e., sprinkler, and fire alarm plans). If you need a set of plans, contact Scott Kelly at skelly@plaintownship.com to schedule a time to pick them up.

Dates: Sept. 27, 29 & Oct. 4, 2022 1800 to 2200 hours
Location: Class will be held through an online platform. More details to follow.

Tuition: $100, no book required

Students will get a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
