Professional Firefighter Academy NFPA 1001: Standard Professional Firefighter Professional

Meets current NFPA 1001 Standard Professional Firefighter Professional Qualifications and including 16 Hours of Driver's Training. (All University of Akron students will receive 11 credit hours towards their Fire Protection Associate degree upon completion of this course and passing the State Examination.)

Dates: May 3 through August 16, 2021

Classes meet Mondays & Wednesdays from 8:00-12:30 pm and Saturday from 8:30-5:30pm (with a 1-hour lunch) There will be weekend sessions both Sat and Sun for burn days at the end of class.

Tuition: $3900+ $600 gear rental if needed

Payment Options: Full Payment before first day of class
Payment Plan - $1,500 before first day of class + $600 gear rental if needed.
$1,200 last day of May
$1,200 last day of June

Deadline for applications:  April 12, 2021

Turnout gear is REQUIRED for this training. The cost is $600 if you need to rent it from us.

Medical Form must be completed by a physician and either mailed to The Training Center for Fire and Hazardous materials, University of Akron, Polsky Building Room 327, Akron, OH 44325-4304, or dropped off at Polsky 327.
