In this advanced class we create pivot tables based on one worksheet as well as multiple worksheets. We’ll learn how to take a list and convert it to a table in Excel. We’ll explore data models.
Pivot tables are created from existing spreadsheets. While it’s not totally necessary to know how to create a spreadsheet in order to create a pivot table the, it helps to understand a few things like:
- How to open a workbook and view a simple table comfortably
- How to identify fields and records in a table
- Understanding how to edit an existing table for a smooth pivot table creation (no blank lines or extra columns
- The ability to switch back and forth between worksheets
- The basics of a spreadsheet’s components
- Adding removing rows/columns
- How to create and edit simple formulas
- How to navigate between sheets and how to delete them
