Fire Instructor (Emergency Service Instructors Certification)

This 60 hour course is designed for those who wish to become certified in the State of Ohio as a Fire Instructor. This course includes 48 hours of instruction, 2 hours for the examination, and 10 hours of student teaching . This course complies with NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications. Students must have 5 years' experience in the fire service and pass the knowledge exam with an 80%. Prior to entrance to this class, you must show proof of passing the Fire Knowledge exam. In addition, students must complete student teaching requirements and pass the division of EMS Instructor Techniques examination. All course work must be completed within 24 months from the date of your Fire Knowledge exam.

Dates: February 19-26, 2024 . The course will meet each day from 0900 to 1700.
Location: Hudson Fire Department, 40 S. Oviatt St, Hudson, OH 44236

The state test will be held on Feb. 24th at 1000, and the final day (8-hour fire module) wil be held on February 26th.

Students will need to complete an additional 10 hours of supervised teaching after passing the State of Ohio certification exam and the 8 hour fire module.

STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED FOR THE CLASS TO TAKE THE KNOWLEDGE EXAM.

Preknowledge exam dates will be Jan. 22, 23, 24th at 1000 hours.
