Course Description:
This course is designed to teach students to troubleshoot more advanced industrial control systems. The course will build upon the items introduced in Electrical Troubleshooting I. Variable Frequency Drives and PLC wiring schemes and basic programs will be investigated and made functional. Robotic interfacing wiring and troubleshooting will be investigated.
Course Objective:
Individuals successfully completing this course will be able to wire, set up and troubleshoot advanced control circuits and components. Basic electronic devices, including diodes, transistors and some of the thyristor family of devices will be investigated as they related to input and output terminals of advanced devices. Variable Frequency Drive wiring and set up will be investigated. PLC input and output wiring will assembled and troubleshooting skills investigated along with basic programs. Basic solenoid controlled hydraulic and pneumatic valves will be investigated. Robot interfacing wiring will be investigated and troubleshooted. Single loop temperature controller components and circuits will be investigated.

- Troubleshoot PLC programs and wiring diagrams.
- Troubleshoot various PLC input and output card terminal circuits and associated electronic devices.
- Troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drive Power and Controls circuits including PLC interfacing.
- Troubleshoot robot interfacing circuits with control devices as well as PLC interfaces.
- Troubleshoot single Loop temperature controllers.
